Following the highly successful completion of another housing project, WTW Architects was re-engaged to implement additional new housing at the University of Nevada, Reno. Peavine Hall combines suite style student accommodations with common spaces to create an environment suitable for study and social interaction.

This first phase, a mid-rise building for 400 beds, includes both shared and single bed configurations. The Ground Floor consists of community spaces such as a flexible multi-purpose room, laundry and recreation areas. Social and study areas are located on the upper levels adjacent to student living spaces. The central lounges bring the students together while providing excellent views of the city, campus, and surrounding mountains. The L-shaped building also opens onto a generous patio and courtyard space, providing another area for the residents to enjoy and interact with one another.

In keeping with the campus context, patterned brick and cast stone facades, vertical windows and pitched roofs are incorporated into a contemporary composition around study lounges common to each floor. The design incorporates the contextual feel of the University's residential community while implementing innovative and state-of-the-art design. New courtyards, plazas and recreational areas will link the residential community with the campus core.

This project was designed in collaboration with Collaborative Design Studio.
