Oberlin College commissioned WTW Architects to lead the design of a new on-campus student housing facility. Through an intensive series of workshops with student groups and College Stakeholders, WTW developed a 300-bed program with single and quad suites to house upperclassmen at this prestigious liberal arts college and music conservatory.
Multipurpose spaces, breakout lounges, rehearsal rooms, and other intimate study areas throughout the facility allow students to utilize spaces for classes, rehearsal, studying, and more. A semi-commercial kitchen is located on the ground floor for use by students and groups desiring maximized access to better quality cooking space, equipment, appliances, and tools, while smaller common kitchenettes are also available for convenience on each floor.
WTW served as the Design Criteria architect on this project, bringing the vision of Oberlin College to life and working to make sure that this housing development meets the needs of the students and the campus.
